- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Roll out the pizza dough into a thin, even circle on a floured surface, then transfer it to the prepared baking sheet.
- Spread a generous layer of shredded mozzarella evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges for the crust. The cheese should cover most of the surface, creating a gooey base once baked.
- Bake the crust with cheese for about 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the edges are golden brown. This helps the cheese melt perfectly and the crust develop a crisp exterior.
- Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool slightly, so the cheese sets a little without hardening. Use a sharp knife to cut the cheese into long, thin strips resembling mummy bandages.
- Gently drape and layer the cheese strips over the pizza in a crisscross pattern, creating multiple bandage-like layers to mimic mummies. Leave small gaps for the eyes.
- Slice black olives into small rounds to form the eyes. Place a slice of olive on each mound of cheese at the gap to represent the pupils. Optionally, add tiny pepperoni or salami slices for extra detail.
- Return the decorated pizza to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes, just until the cheese is slightly crispy and the eyes are set into place.
- Remove the pizza from the oven, let it cool for a couple of minutes, then slice and serve. The result will be a cheesy, gooey, playful mummy pizza perfect for Halloween festivities.
Notes
Feel free to customize with additional toppings like sausage, peppers, or extra cheese for different effects. Using pre-made dough saves time, but homemade is equally fun!
