Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk preferably whole milk for creaminess
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract a splash for authentic flavor
  • 2 tablespoons sugar adjust to taste
  • 1 cup ice cubes

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

  1. Combine the milk, vanilla extract, and sugar in a measuring cup or small bowl. Stir until the sugar dissolves completely, and the mixture is smooth and fragrant.
  2. Pour the vanilla milk mixture into the blender. Add the ice cubes on top.
  3. Secure the lid on the blender and blend on high speed for about 30-40 seconds, until the mixture is thick, slushy, and icy with a smooth consistency.
  4. Stop the blender and check the texture; if it’s too thick, add a splash more milk and blend briefly to loosen it. If too runny, blend a few more seconds.
  5. Pour the slushie into glasses, allowing the icy crystals to shimmer in the light. Garnish with a vanilla bean pod or a sprinkle of cocoa powder if desired.
  6. Serve immediately with a straw or spoon, enjoying the refreshing, icy texture and fragrant vanilla aroma.

Notes

For extra flavor, try adding a pinch of cinnamon or top with whipped cream. Make sure to chill the ingredients beforehand for a better texture.
